Summary: Leadership transition underscores KSMTA’s continued focus on innovation, data-driven profitability, and client success.

INDIANAPOLIS – KSM Transport Advisors (KSMTA) today announced that Chris Henry has been appointed president, succeeding David Roush, who will continue to serve clients and the firm as senior advisor. This leadership transition reflects KSMTA’s ongoing commitment to helping trucking and logistics companies build durable, data-driven profitability.

“Chris has earned the trust of our clients and our team by turning complex network questions into practical, weekly decisions,” said Roush. “He led our team in the creation of FreightMath, which significantly improves our analytics, analysis, and client delivery, and I’m confident he’ll keep pushing KSMTA, and our clients, toward sharper insights, stronger execution, and durable margin improvement.”

During Henry’s tenure as COO, the KSMTA team modernized its data infrastructure and client-delivery model, and most notably launched FreightMath, the proprietary engine that serves as the P&L for a carrier’s freight network. Using a unique FM OR that captures the Network Effect across inbound, outbound, and one-way moves, FreightMath pinpoints where value is created or eroded by customer, lane, or tractor aligning pricing and operations to measurable financial outcomes.

Paired with FreightMarks, KSMTA’s comprehensive benchmarking platform, FreightMath provides full P&L context so clients can make smarter pricing decisions, improve network balance, and strengthen margins.

“I’m honored to step into this role and build on the foundation that David Roush created,” said Henry. “David is one of the most respected and insightful minds in the truckload industry. His vision for KSMTA and his relentless focus on disciplined execution have reshaped the direction of hundreds of trucking organizations. As we look ahead, my goal is to carry that spirit forward while helping carriers navigate the next era of change, where artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics will redefine how networks are engineered and profitability is achieved.”

Continuing To Deliver Client Value

As KSMTA evolves, the focus remains steadfast: helping clients achieve measurable results through insight, innovation, and partnership. Clients can expect:

  • Continuity of Counsel: Roush will remain deeply engaged with key clients as senior advisor, ensuring seamless continuity on long-running initiatives.
  • Sharper Network Insights: KSMTA will continue to advance its FreightMath methodology, bringing clearer visibility to segment, load, customer, and lane-level margin contribution.
  • Operator-First Decision Support: Clients can expect more powerful, data-driven tools that connect strategy with execution and help truckload leaders make smarter decisions in planning, pricing, customer management, and cost benchmarking.
  • Education & Community: KSMTA will continue to grow the FreightMath Alliance, a collaborative forum where trucking leaders compare approaches, pressure-test ideas, and accelerate what works.

A Legacy of Leadership, A Future of Growth

“We’re deeply grateful for David’s leadership, mentorship, and the trust he’s built with our clients,” Henry added. “On a personal level, I’m especially thankful for his friendship and for the confidence he showed in inviting me to join KSMTA four years ago. His guidance and partnership have been instrumental in shaping both my growth and the firm’s continued success.”

“The best part of this transition is knowing the team is aligned and client-focused,” Roush noted. “Chris and the KSMTA team will keep raising the bar for what advisors in this industry can do.”
