Valerie Borchers Named One of Northeast Indiana's Most Influential Women

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller), a leading employee-owned accounting and advisory firm, is pleased to announce Valerie Borchers, a director in the firm’s Outsourced Finance & Accounting Services (OFAS) Group, has been named one of 12 honorees in the 2026 Influential Women of Northeast Indiana awards program.

Presented by Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly, The Journal Gazette, and KPC Media, the annual awards program recognizes outstanding female leaders, executives, and community champions who have overcome barriers, demonstrated exceptional leadership, and paved the way for future generations.

Borchers brings extensive executive leadership and financial expertise to her role at KSM, where she helps business owners navigate complex financial and operational challenges, develop strategic plans, and position their organizations for long-term success. Prior to joining KSM, she served as CFO and COO of a large e-commerce company and held CFO positions with numerous privately held businesses, including eight high-growth startups.

At KSM, Borchers has played an integral role in growing the firm’s OFAS service line, developing processes, training programs, and operational structures to support its continued expansion. She is also passionate about developing the next generation of leaders, having helped launch KSM’s coaching program in the Fort Wayne office and serving as a mentor to professionals throughout the firm.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Borchers is actively involved in the northeast Indiana community. She has supported financial and organizational initiatives at Sonrise Church and volunteers with organizations including Project 216, NeighborLink, and Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child.

This latest honor adds to Borchers’ growing list of achievements. In 2024, she was named to Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s Forty Under 40 list, recognizing her professional success and commitment to community service.

Borchers and her fellow honorees will be recognized at the Influential Women of Northeast Indiana awards event Nov. 4 at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne.
