KSM Welcomes Tax Partner Mike Greenwald

NEW YORK – KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller), a leading employee-owned accounting and advisory firm, is pleased to announce Mike Greenwald has joined the firm as a partner in its Tax Services Group. He will be based in KSM’s New York office.

As a partner at KSM, Greenwald will advise clients across the firm on complex federal tax matters, with a particular focus on partnership taxation, real estate, and business transactions. With decades of public accounting experience, he helps clients develop tax strategies that optimize transaction structures, address complex business challenges, and support long-term business objectives while navigating an evolving tax environment.

Greenwald serves clients across a broad range of industries, including private equity, real estate, construction, financial services, manufacturing, technology and media, wholesale distribution, and professional services. His experience spans domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, transaction structuring and due diligence, real estate transactions, acquisitions and divestitures, ESOP consulting, bankruptcy tax matters, and other complex tax and transaction-related issues.

Greenwald is recognized throughout the accounting profession for his technical leadership in partnership taxation. He has held numerous leadership roles with the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), including serving as a member of the Tax Executive Committee and chair of its Partnership Taxation Technical Resource Panel. He is currently an elected at-large member of AICPA Council and serves on the AICPA Strategic Tax Reform Advisory Group, IRS Advocacy & Relations Committee, and ESG Task Force.

Prior to joining KSM, Greenwald was a partner and corporate and business tax practice leader at Friedman LLP, where he advised clients on complex federal tax matters and business transactions. He has also held leadership roles with national public accounting firms throughout his career.

Greenwald earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Study of the City from Yale University and a Master of Public and Private Management degree from the Yale School of Management.
