Mike Wipper

Mike Wipper is a partner at KSM and leader of the firm’s Private Equity Services Group. In this role, he works closely with private equity firms and their portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle, supporting pre-acquisition due diligence, financial reporting, and exit planning to help protect and create value.

Leveraging his experience within the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services Group, Mike helps private equity buyers assess the quality of earnings of target companies and develop a comprehensive understanding of their financial condition. Mike has worked on transactions with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) ranging from $500,000 to $50 million and has participated in more than 500 transactions throughout his career. He has significant experience serving manufacturing, industrial distribution, technology, construction, and consumer products companies.

Mike leads the firm’s post-transaction accounting advisory services, which focus on assisting clients with transactional accounting, purchase price adjustments, working capital true-ups, and other consulting services within financial reporting.

Additionally, Mike’s background in audit and assurance provides private equity clients with valuable insight into financial reporting, internal controls, and transaction-related accounting matters. Mike was a partner in KSM’s Audit & Assurance Services Group for several years before becoming a fully dedicated Transaction Advisory Services Group partner. Prior to joining KSM, Mike spent eight years at Big Four firms in Boston, where he provided assurance services to clients in a variety of industries, including large, multinational corporations and private companies, and assisted several clients through the IPO process.
