Sauder Receives Prestigious Foellinger Foundation Award
FORT WAYNE – Zach Sauder has received the Foellinger Foundation’s 2020 David A. Bobilya Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership Award. The award recognizes the importance of individual board members in nonprofit organizations in four focus areas—governance, leadership, financial sustainability, and program impact.
Sauder, a director in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Fort Wayne office, received the award in recognition of his accomplishments as board chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, one of the most successful Boys & Girls Clubs of America chapters in the country.
“As board chair with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, Mr. Sauder has exhibited adaptive leadership in recognizing the opportunities that crises and challenges can bring. He has helped guide the organization through uncertain times and significantly expanded its physical and digital programming and services. Additionally, in the midst of the pandemic, his leadership helped complete a successful merger, ensuring the organization’s continued long-term success,” stated Michael Moellering, Foellinger Foundation board chair.
Joe Jordan, president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, said, “Zach became our board president in 2018. Since then, the growth of our organization has been tremendous. His leadership has been exemplary. He put us in a situation to expand our services, deepen our impact, and be a beacon of hope for so many struggling families.”
Sauder received the award at the Foellinger Foundation’s livestream event held late-October.
