INDIANAPOLIS – Katz, Sapper & Miller, a leading advisory, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that Lauren Violi has joined the firm in a newly created role that will help it continue to evolve and enrich its workplace culture and employee experience.

As director of workplace culture & experience, Violi will serve as a resource for KSM employees as they develop as professionals, discover their aspirations, and navigate their individual career paths within the firm. She will also advise KSM’s leadership team on ways to enhance the employee experience and KSM’s culture based on insights gleaned from employee feedback.

An attorney by training, Violi most recently served as a director of career services for the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Ind., where her main responsibilities included advising students as they explored, applied for, and negotiated career opportunities; planning and facilitating student programming; and working with legal employers. She also counseled recent alumni navigating job and career changes and pursuing professional development opportunities. Prior to her tenure at Maurer, where she continues to teach in an adjunct role, Violi practiced law and supported a variety of internal development and recruiting initiatives at Indianapolis law firm Krieg DeVault.

“We believe Lauren’s background working for a professional services firm and more recently in a campus environment makes her especially well-suited to observe and advise KSM on where we can enrich the employee experience for all our people,” said Tim Cook, KSM CEO & president. “Whether working through the ‘next normal’ of the hybrid work environment or identifying ways to better achieve balance between work and life, we’re constantly striving to make KSM a place where our people can pursue and realize the best version of themselves. Lauren will play a key role in realizing that vision for our employees.”

KSM has long been recognized for its workplace culture. In February, the firm was named among the Best Places to Work in Indiana for a 17th consecutive time and is one of just two employers to make the Best Places list every year since the program’s inception. The distinction, awarded by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, is based on an employer assessment and a comprehensive employee survey.

“That KSM would create a role specifically focused on enhancing the employee experience and its workplace culture says a lot about how the firm values its people, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to help impact KSM in this capacity,” Violi said. “Throughout my career, I’ve most enjoyed helping professionals as they work to better understand themselves, their profession, and how they want to craft a career, and I look forward to working with KSM’s professionals to do the same.”

Violi graduated with a B.A. in advertising and public relations from Loyola University Chicago and earned a J.D. from the Maurer School of Law. She is based in KSM’s Indianapolis office.
