KSM Transport Advisors Names Brad Heisterkamp Vice President

Summary: Trucking industry veteran Brad Heisterkamp has joined KSM Transport Advisors as vice president. In this role, he will leverage extensive operational and strategic leadership experience to help carrier clients drive profitability and performance through FreightMath^™ analytics and advisory services.

INDIANAPOLIS – KSM Transport Advisors (KSMTA) is pleased to announce that Brad Heisterkamp has joined as vice president. In this role, Heisterkamp will work directly with carrier clients to deliver KSMTA’s FreightMath^™ analytics and advisory services, helping organizations uncover and act on opportunities to drive incremental value. He brings a practical operator’s perspective to every engagement, along with deep industry expertise shaped by more than two decades in truckload transportation.

Heisterkamp brings a valuable perspective to KSMTA as a former FreightMath client at multiple carriers. His firsthand experience enables him to relate directly to client challenges and deliver insights that are both strategic and actionable, while also contributing to the continued evolution of FreightMath. KSMTA’s proprietary FreightMath platform combines operational, financial, and network data to help truckload carriers evaluate freight profitability, optimize pricing and network balance, and make data-driven decisions that improve overall performance and long-term profitability.

During his time in the truckload industry, Heisterkamp has held leadership roles across operations, pricing, network strategy, and sales. Prior to joining KSMTA, he served in senior leadership positions at several prominent carriers, including Ascend, where he was senior vice president of specialized services, network, and sales, and previously president of asset operations. In those roles, he led initiatives spanning terminal expansion, fleet operations, and network optimization. Heisterkamp also held key leadership roles at NFI and Transco Lines (TLI), where he advanced to senior vice president of operations. He began his full-truckload career at CRST, building a strong foundation in management, pricing, and fleet operations.

Heisterkamp received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Iowa. He is a former member of the Arkansas Trucking Association 40 Under 40 Council.
