KSM Names Four New Partners

Katz, Sapper & Miller is pleased to announce the promotion of four individuals as they join the KSM partnership, effective Jan. 1, 2024. Strategic, collaborative, and technically astute, our newest partners are wholly focused on supporting our clients’ goals and aspirations.

Charles Decker is a member of KSM’s Tax Services Group. Charles provides technical review of federal income tax issues, identifying innovative solutions to minimize taxes while ensuring compliance for the firm’s clients. He regularly monitors tax legislation and emerging tax issues and serves as a specialized resource and subject matter expert for KSM engagement teams. Charles is a frequent speaker and author on federal tax issues. Charles received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and professional services from the University of Southern Indiana as well as a Master of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University.

Sarah Hammond is a member of KSM’s Business Advisory Group. Sarah serves as a trusted tax and business advisor to entrepreneurs, business owners, closely held, family-owned businesses, and private equity-owned companies spanning a multitude of industries. She is passionate about taking a collaborative approach while working with business owners, company leadership, and other advisors to minimize tax liability and risk while maximizing savings and thoughtfully planning for the future. Sarah graduated magna cum laude from Manchester College with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and management.

Jordan Mayer is a member of KSM’s Business Advisory Group. Jordan provides financial, tax, and consulting services to a wide variety of businesses and industries. He uses his extensive tax knowledge to help develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow. Jordan has experience in tax compliance, planning, forecasts, projections, and other general business and accounting services for entities, individuals, trusts, and estates. Jordan received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Brittany Schutter is a member of KSM’s Business Advisory Group. Brittany provides strategic guidance to businesses and their owners on federal and multistate tax compliance and educates them on current tax legislation and emerging topics to help them make informed business decisions. She has experience in mergers, acquisitions, and business restructuring, and advises clients on the tax implications of those transactions. Brittany graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University, where she also received a Master of Science degree in accounting.
