Doug Carpenter is a director in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Business Advisory Group. Doug provides financial, tax, and consulting services to clients in a multitude of industries with an emphasis in retail, manufacturing, and technology. He uses his extensive tax law knowledge to help clients develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow. Doug also has experience with both public and corporate accounting, including M&A, multistate tax compliance, sales and use tax, payroll, property tax, and tax planning for businesses and individuals.
Prior to joining the firm, Doug served as a senior director of tax services for an accounting and financial services firm and was previously the vice president of tax for a national retail company.
Doug received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a focus in finance and economics from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management.
Doug is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. He serves as a board member and treasurer for School on Wheels, which provides one-on-one tutoring and educational advocacy for school-aged children impacted by homelessness. He also serves on the finance committee for TCC Gives, which provides resources to survivors of domestic violence.
Doug was a finalist for Junior Achievement of Central Indiana’s Best and Brightest award in 2018.
