Doug Carpenter is a director in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Business Advisory Group. Doug provides financial, tax, and consulting services to clients in a multitude of industries with an emphasis in dealerships, retail, manufacturing, and technology. He uses his extensive tax law knowledge to help clients develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow. Doug also has experience with both public and corporate accounting, including M&A, multistate tax compliance, sales and use tax, payroll, property tax, and tax planning for businesses and individuals. He is also experienced in serving high-net-worth individuals.
Prior to joining the firm, Doug served as a senior director of tax services for an accounting and financial services firm and was previously the vice president of tax for a national retail company.
Doug received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a focus in finance and economics from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management.
Doug is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. He also serves as a board member and treasurer for Brightlane Learning, which provides one-on-one tutoring and educational advocacy for school-aged children impacted by homelessness.
Doug was a finalist for Junior Achievement of Central Indiana’s Best and Brightest award in 2018.
