Dan Patterson is a manager in KSM’s Outsourced Finance & Accounting Services Group. Working in the firm’s Chicago office, Dan assists clients with day-to-day accounting operations, including transactional processing, monthly close, and financial reporting. With more than 10 years of experience in client accounting services, he helps businesses improve the accuracy, efficiency, and clarity of their financial data, supporting informed decision-making and sustainable growth. Dan also provides advisory insight around process improvements and reporting systems to help clients align their finance functions with broader business goals.
In addition to his client-facing work, Dan leads and supports accounting team members by overseeing workloads, providing guidance, and supporting efficient service delivery. He also contributes to process improvement initiatives, helping refine workflows, standardize procedures, and enhance reporting processes to drive consistency and operational efficiency across the department.
Prior to joining KSM, Dan was a manager at MichaelSilver, an independent advisory, tax, and assurance firm in the Chicagoland area, where he focused on client accounting services.
Dan received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University.
Dan is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society.
