Tim Cook Named to IBJ Media’s Indiana 250 for Second Consecutive Year
INDIANAPOLIS – KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller), a leading advisory, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that CEO & President Tim Cook has once again been named to IBJ Media’s Indiana 250, a list of the most influential business leaders across the state of Indiana in multiple industries.
Cook was chosen for his commitment to fostering a people-first culture, strategic growth, and vision for the future of KSM. This marks another milestone in his enduring leadership and ongoing impact on the industry.
Under Cook’s leadership, KSM has remained committed to supporting the Indiana economy, driving growth and innovation across the state. With offices in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Evansville, KSM continues to invest in Indiana communities by creating high-quality jobs, supporting local business development, and delivering specialized advisory services that fuel regional progress.
Creating an Award-Winning Culture
Being recognized on this prestigious list for a second consecutive year reflects Cook’s dedication to guiding KSM through transformative growth, while shaping the broader conversation around the future of accounting. Under his leadership since 2021, KSM has not only expanded its footprint but also earned national recognition as one of the top employers in the accounting industry.
In 2025, the firm ranked 48th on Accounting Today’s list of Top 100 Firms. KSM was also named to the Vault Accounting 25 for 2025 and 2026, a ranking of the 25 best accounting employers to work for in North America. These accolades underscore the cultural and strategic momentum Cook has created at KSM. At the heart of Cook’s leadership philosophy is a commitment to empowering employees to become the best version of themselves.
Strategic Expansion Through Acquisitions
Under Cook’s leadership, KSM has grown from 352 employees at the beginning of 2021 to more than 700 – a 98.9% increase in four years. In 2024, Cook led KSM through the successful acquisitions of two respected firms, Cassady Schiller, which established KSM’s Cincinnati office, and Shanholt Glassman Klein Kramer & Co, which significantly expanded KSM’s presence in New York City and the real estate industry.
These strategic acquisitions extended KSM’s geographic footprint and service offerings, aligning with Cook’s forward-looking vision of creating a stronger, more dynamic firm that remains firmly independent.
A Vision for the Future
In an era in which accounting firms are being acquired by larger firms or accepting private equity money, Cook has set a strategic foundation for KSM’s future as a fully independent firm that includes continued growth and expansion of its advisory and consulting services to supplement traditional tax and audit work.
Since becoming CEO, Cook has envisioned a new corporate headquarters that reflects KSM’s culture of collaboration and flexibility. This new headquarters will come to fruition in mid-2026 when the firm’s Indianapolis workforce relocates to its new 81,000-square-foot space. This investment will not only enhance the employee experience but also reinforce KSM’s long-term commitment to central Indiana.
Cook leads with a clear focus on innovation, employee well-being, and client service excellence. From embracing technology-driven solutions to fostering a collaborative firm culture, his influence continues to elevate both KSM, the state of Indiana, and the accounting industry as a whole.
