INDIANAPOLIS – KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller), a leading advisory, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin Wagoner as chief people officer (CPO).
In this role, Wagoner will help build on KSM’s strong, people-centered culture by leading strategic initiatives that enhance the employee experience and align human resources strategies with the firm’s broader business goals.
“Our people are our greatest asset,” said Tim Cook, CEO & president of KSM. “KSM has long been recognized as a great place to work, and Erin brings a thoughtful, strategic, and human-centered approach to leadership that will further elevate how we support, develop, and engage our team. Her experience and passion for cultivating a strong workplace culture where people aspire to be the best versions of themselves make her the perfect fit for this role.”
As CPO and a member of KSM’s executive committee, Wagoner will focus on sustaining and enhancing KSM’s positive workplace environment by championing career and leadership development, talent acquisition and retention, wellbeing, and a flexible, empowering employee experience. She will work closely with executive leadership to ensure that people strategies continue to support the firm’s mission, values, and long-term success.
“I am honored to serve as KSM’s chief people officer and to continue shaping a workplace where our people feel valued and supported,” said Wagoner. “My goal is to foster our culture of connection, flexibility, and trust, where employees are empowered to work in the way that works for them, allowing them to do their best work.”
Wagoner most recently served as KSM’s director of people operations, where she played a pivotal role in modernizing HR systems, launching new leadership development programming, and increasing firmwide employee engagement. She began her career at KSM as an auditor in 2004 and later became a business tax advisor before pursuing leadership roles outside the firm. Wagoner served as chief financial officer and operating officer for Servant Solutions, a not-for-profit financial services organization, before returning to KSM in 2022. Additionally, she taught at the college level as a professor of accounting at Anderson University.
Wagoner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Anderson University and a Master of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University.
