Sarah Schenkel is a director in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Fort Wayne office and a member of the firm’s Audit & Assurance Services Group. Sarah helps clients navigate the ever-changing environment of financial reporting and accounting standards, helping to ensure they are up to date on best practices and operational controls in order to make profitable business decisions. She has experience serving as a trusted advisor while overseeing financial statement and employee benefit plan audits and other engagements for clients in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, services, and technology.
Sarah graduated summa cum laude from Manchester University with a Bachelor of Science degree in financial accounting.
Sarah is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Indiana CPA Society. She serves as board treasurer for Erin’s House for Grieving Children. Additionally, Sarah serves on the audit committee for the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life in and around Fort Wayne.
Appointed by Gov. Eric Holcomb, Sarah serves on the Indiana Board of Accountancy, a regulatory agency overseeing the accounting profession within the state. Sarah’s participation allows her to have a voice in decisions that directly impact Indiana CPAs both today and in the future. She currently serves as vice chair of the board.
Sarah is a recipient of a 2023 Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly Forty Under 40 award. In 2022, she received KSM’s prestigious Community Service Excellence Vision Award, which recognizes a KSM employee who is a pillar and leader in the community.
