Matt Svenstrup is a partner in KSM’s Transaction Advisory Services Group. Matt works with middle-market buyers and sellers to assess their quality of earnings. Through financial due diligence, he helps clients gain an accurate picture of a company’s financial position and potential risks. Matt has extensive experience providing diligence services in the construction industry and is skilled at assessing and analyzing the complexities of project-based accounting in a deal environment.
Matt previously worked in the direct investing arm of a family office, sourcing and analyzing equity investments in the lower middle market. He also served as a financial planning and analysis leader in a private equity-backed business. His professional experience includes internal audit and risk management services for a top 10 accounting firm.
Matt received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University.
Matt is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Indiana. He previously served on the board of directors for Heritage Place. After a few years coaching high school football at Brebeuf Jesuit, Matt now applies his coaching experience to his daughters’ recreational softball, basketball, and soccer teams.
Matt was selected as a 2024 Emerging Leader by The M&A Advisor in recognition of his career accomplishments and professional expertise. In 2023, he received the KSM Vision Award for Client Service Excellence, honoring his exceptional commitment to client service.
