Katie Hammer is manager of community engagement for Katz, Sapper & Miller. Drawing from her extensive experience supporting not-for-profits in central Indiana, Katie works closely with KSM’s community engagement committee to plan, execute, and communicate annual philanthropic strategies and initiatives. She also leads the firm’s volunteer community service projects, assists employees with finding opportunities within their communities to volunteer or engage in board or committee service, and strategizes to maximize KSM’s community financial commitments and diversity of organizations supported.

Prior to joining the firm, Katie served as a strategic and planned gifts officer for Gleaners Food Bank, where her responsibilities included building and maintaining relationships with the organization’s corporate and individual major donors and connecting donors with volunteer opportunities. She also oversaw aspects of Gleaners Food Bank’s planned giving efforts. Her experience also includes serving as a major gifts fundraiser for Butler University, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, and St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center.

Early in my career, a person I really admire told me to always do what you say you will do. It’s simple advice but has served me well in both my professional and personal life.

Katie received a Bachelor of Science degree in entrepreneurship and a Master of Business Administration degree in corporate entrepreneurship from the Miller College of Business at Ball State University.

Katie is a graduate of Class XXXIX of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series.
