Erik DeWael is a director in KSM’s Real Estate Services Group. Erik provides tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to real estate owners, developers, investment funds, and joint ventures. He helps clients evaluate the tax impact of transactions, forecasts, and operating decisions while identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and support sound business planning. He has experience with tax research, tax projections and modeling, and state and local tax compliance.
Erik received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and business analytics from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University as well as a Master of Science degree in accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Indianapolis.
Erik is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Indiana CPA Society. He serves as treasurer of the board of Rock Steady Boxing of Brownsburg and has served as a mentor for the Hamilton Southeastern High School Academy of Finance program.
