Emily Totten is the director of advisory support for KSM. Emily plays a key role in driving operational excellence, optimizing team performance, and supporting the continued growth of KSM’s advisory practice. With a strong background in operational management, she helps develop and enhance processes that improve efficiency, scalability, and collaboration across the practice. She also works closely with leadership to strengthen organizational alignment, foster effective communication, and support strategic initiatives that enhance both team performance and the client experience.

Prior to joining KSM, Emily spent seven years at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), where she most recently served as vice president of strategic operations. In that role, Emily led enterprise-wide initiatives focused on resource optimization, performance tracking, and organizational agility. Her leadership in business excellence, vendor strategy, and cross-team collaboration helped enhance the IEDC’s economic development efforts. She has also held multiple leadership roles in public policy and government affairs and has managed research, regulatory affairs, and economic development initiatives.

Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism, with concentrations in public relations and political science and a minor in business, from Indiana University Bloomington.

In recognition of her exceptional leadership and contributions to state economic development initiatives, Emily was named a 2024 Rising Leader by the IEDC’s Young Professionals Group.
