Accounting Advisory Manager, Transaction Advisory Services, CPA, CFE chris.smith@ksmcpa.comChris Smith is an accounting advisory manager in KSM’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services Group. Chris helps clients navigate complex purchase accounting and technical reporting issues related to opening balance sheets, adjusted closing balance sheets, and purchase price adjustments, including net working capital.
Chris leverages his diverse experience to help clients enhance financial transparency, strengthen financial reporting, and meet compliance requirements. In addition to transaction advisory services, he provides valuable advisory support in areas such as month-end closing procedures, consolidations, audit readiness, financial statement preparation, operational accounting, internal control assessments and testing, cash flow forecasting, and various types of financial analysis.
Prior to joining KSM, Chris held roles with Big Four firms and with public and private companies. He has served clients across a wide range of industries, including transportation and logistics, software and technology, healthcare, aerospace and defense, manufacturing, distribution, retail, and construction.
Chris received a Master of Science degree in accounting from Grand Canyon University and bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance from New Mexico State University. He has earned the Certified Fraud Examiner designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida. He is currently pursuing the Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst certification from the Corporate Finance Institute.
Chris is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New York State Society of CPAs, and the ACFE.
