Possible Delay to April 15 Tax Deadline
Last night, President Trump announced that he will instruct the Treasury Department to allow certain individuals and businesses negatively impacted by coronavirus to defer tax payments beyond the April 15 deadline. Currently, there are no further details available, but rest assured that we are monitoring the situation.
In the meantime, we recommend that taxpayers continue their tax return preparation process, working toward the original April 15 deadline. Additionally, taxpayers may consider holding any payments that are currently due April 15 in case an extension is provided.
As soon as more information becomes available, we will update you and provide you with recommended guidance.
