Daniel Horn is a director of accounting advisory in KSM’s Transaction Advisory Services Group. Daniel helps buyers and sellers navigate post-transaction accounting and contract matters. Additionally, he provides internal controls consulting, alternative dispute resolution, financial modeling, data analytics, business and financial transition support, audit readiness, forensic accounting, and guidance on technical accounting issues. Prior to joining KSM, Daniel spent two years with a family office, where he led the valuation, financial due diligence, and integration aspects for potential acquisitions. He also provided a variety of services to the organization’s eleven wholly-owned industrial manufacturing subsidiaries as an internal consultant and project manager cross-supporting financial and operational objectives. Daniel also previously spent more than a decade in public accounting managing all aspects of commercial, not-for-profit, and employee benefit plan audit engagements and providing a wide range of other assurance and advisory services. A quote that I live by is “If you want to be great at anything, start by being a great listener.” I’m not sure if I read that somewhere or made it up, but I remind myself of this constantly. A close second: “Ask good questions. Lots of them.”  

Janell Wilson is a partner in KSM’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Audit & Assurance Services Group. Janell provides audit, review, and compilation services to privately held companies and works with clients to ensure accurate financial reporting, improve accounting systems, and strengthen internal controls. She serves clients across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, automobile dealerships, interior design, professional services, and not-for-profit. Janell also has extensive experience auditing employee benefit plans and delivering accounting, business consulting, and compliance solutions that enable clients to enhance operations and achieve their financial goals. Prior to joining KSM, Janell was a partner at MichaelSilver, an independent advisory, tax, and assurance firm in the Chicagoland area, where she led assurance engagements and provided consulting and special project support.

Ryan Lubinski is a partner in KSM’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Audit & Assurance and Valuations Services Groups. He provides assurance and valuation services to privately held companies across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, automobile dealerships, retail, distribution and logistics, and employee benefit plans. Ryan has extensive experience managing assurance and valuation engagements and takes a client-focused, data-driven approach, working closely with business owners and management teams to deliver insights that enhance financial reporting accuracy and support informed decision-making. His valuation experience includes engagements for estate and gift tax, marital dissolution, and succession planning. Prior to joining KSM, Ryan was an assurance and valuation partner at MichaelSilver, an independent advisory, tax, and assurance firm in the Chicagoland area, where he led the business valuation group and provided assurance and accounting services to clients. Before beginning his accounting career, Ryan spent more than six years in the logistics industry with one of the largest trucking companies in the country.

Katy Giesecke is a partner in KSM’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Business Advisory Group. With more than 30 years of tax planning and compliance experience, Katy helps high net worth individuals, privately held businesses, and multigenerational families navigate complex tax and wealth transfer challenges to achieve their long term financial goals. Katy has expertise in trust, estate, and gift tax planning. Prior to joining KSM, Katy was a partner at MichaelSilver, an independent advisory, tax, and assurance firm in the Chicagoland area, where she assisted clients with complex tax matters.

Sarah Schenkel is a partner in KSM’s Fort Wayne office and a member of the firm’s Audit & Assurance Services Group. Sarah helps clients navigate the ever-changing environment of financial reporting and accounting standards, helping to ensure they are up to date on best practices and operational controls in order to make profitable business decisions. She has experience serving as a trusted advisor while overseeing financial statement and employee benefit plan audits and other engagements for clients in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, services, and technology.

Kristy McElroy is a partner in KSM’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Business Advisory Group. For over 20 years, Kristy has worked closely with clients to develop forward-looking tax strategies that reduce risk, enhance compliance, and support financial goals. She uses her extensive knowledge in pass-through entity taxation to advise clients in the real estate, professional services, automobile dealership, and private equity industries as well as high-net-worth individuals. Kristy helps clients navigate a wide range of tax and financial matters, including complex partnership taxation, multistate nexus and apportionment, IRA contribution and distribution rules, Roth conversion planning, employee benefits, and retirement plans. Before joining KSM, Kristy was a partner at MichaelSilver, an independent advisory, tax, and assurance firm in the Chicagoland area, where she provided comprehensive tax advisory services. Prior to that, Kristy spent six years at a Big Four public accounting firm.

Harry Steindler is a partner in KSM’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Business Advisory Group. Harry provides clients with strategic tax, assurance, and business advisory solutions that help them improve financial performance, ensure compliance, and achieve long-term objectives. Harry draws on more than 30 years of leadership experience across a variety of industries to guide clients through complex financial and operational challenges. He has served in both client service and leadership roles, including leading the assurance, outsourced accounting, and nonprofit practices, and develops strategic solutions that support clients’ long-term organizational growth. Prior to joining KSM, Harry was a partner at MichaelSilver, an independent advisory, tax, and assurance firm in the Chicagoland area. There, he led the Client Accounting Services Group, helping clients strengthen internal financial functions, enhance reporting capabilities, and streamline accounting processes.
