How the Knowing-Doing Gap Impacts Profitability in the Transportation Industry
Tim Almack, partner-in-charge of Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Transportation Services Group, will be a featured speaker at the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) 2020 Conference. Taking place March 1-3 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL, the annual conference is the premier networking and education event in the truckload industry with more than 1,200 trucking professionals expected to attend.
During his session, “Bridging the Knowing-Doing Gap to Profitability,” Almack will facilitate a panel discussion of TCA Profitability Program members based on the latest results of KSM’s Knowing-Doing Gap survey which features questions related to the five areas associated with successful businesses (employees, organizational structure, sales and marketing, operations, and financial management). Panel participants Nicky Morrison of Prime, Inc., Carl Svendsen of Halvor Lines, Inc. and Stephen Voorhees of Big G Express, Inc. will explain each area’s importance to the profitability of trucking companies and will share ideas and processes they are using to implement changes to these areas of their organizations.
Other conference topics include:
- Leadership transitions to C-level roles within the trucking industry
- The current and future state of truckload and the condition of the freight market
- Practical approaches to nuclear verdicts
- New ways technology is moving more with less
- Simplifying your back office through AI
- Using research on driver commitment to improve retention
Additionally, KSM will be recognized during the conference as a long-standing supporter of the TCA, including the firm’s membership of more than 30 years and its dedication to the success of over 40 trucking clients who are TCA members.
