Mark Flinchum, a partner in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s ESOP Services Group, will speak at The ESOP Association’s Joint Conference for the New South and Carolinas chapters. Taking place Sept. 20-21 in Nashville, TN, this conference offers dual learning tracks with more than ten sessions focusing on a variety of employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) topics and best practices.

Flinchum will co-present a session as part of the technical learning track, which focuses on accounting and tax issues with an ESOP and creating tax efficient liquidity with ESOP 1042 tax deferral. This session will review current accounting and tax issues related to ESOPs, including accounting for leveraged ESOPs and tax reporting for ESOP transactions. Additionally, attendees will explore estate planning ideas and the benefits of the ESOP 1042 tax deferral.
