Transportation Webinar: Update on CARES Act Funding Options for Large Carriers

Date:July 29, 2020
Time:2:00 p.m. EDT

When the U.S. Small Business Administration published the list of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan recipients, some carriers may have been puzzled when they saw that companies with more than 500 employees received loans. Certain fact patterns, primarily driven by the alternative size standards, made it possible for larger companies to receive PPP loans.

Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Randy Hooper, partner in the firm’s Transportation Services Group, will join Steve Pletcher, partner, Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary, P.C., in a webinar discussion hosted by the American Trucking Associations National Accounting & Finance Council (NAFC) Wednesday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

During the session, Hooper and Pletcher will discuss alternative size standards to help carriers determine if they could yet apply under these rules to take advantage of the remaining PPP funds before the recently extended Aug. 8 loan application deadline. Additionally, many companies that received PPP loans have likely (or will soon) spent those resources. The webinar will also cover possible CARES Act financing options, including the now reopened Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, and the Main Street Lending Program.
