Transportation Webinar: KSM and Scopelitis to Discuss the Tax Benefits of Per Diem Plans and Compliance

Date:May 28, 2019
Time:2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT
Hosted by:National Accounting & Finance Council (NAFC), part of the American Trucking Associations (ATA)

In the aftermath of tax reform, which impacted company drivers by eliminating the personal income tax deduction for out-of-pocket business expenses, more carriers are considering implementing per diem plans. By recognizing the portion of driver pay that encompasses these expenses, per diem plans can provide clear payroll and income tax savings, and in many cases provide drivers with more after-tax pay than under the previous deduction model. However, running afoul of the IRS’s accountable plan rules can jeopardize these savings.

In this webinar conversation, hosted by the American Trucking Associations' National Accounting & Finance Council (NAFC), KSM’s Troy Hogan, director in the firm's Transportation Services Group, will join Steve Pletcher, partner with the law firm Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary, to share important information on per diem plan implementation and compliance.
