2016 MedVet Fall Conference

Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Terry O’Neil, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Veterinary Services Group, will present at the 2016 MedVet Fall Conference in Chicago, IL. Taking place Oct. 16 at Navy Pier, this conference provides attendees with a variety of educational options from which to choose, including tracks for veterinarians and technicians, a practice management track, hands-on labs and breakout sessions.

O’Neil will lead two sessions related to topics in veterinary practice management:

  • Veterinary Hospital Financial Benchmarks: National Trends that Lead to Profitability

Current global practice statistics will be used to develop insights into veterinary business performance. Owners and DVMs will also hear about the latest issues and trends in veterinary practices, such as generational issues, corporate consolidation, online competition and low-cost competition.

  • Managing Labor and Direct Costs: Stop Chasing Pennies and Save a Dollar

    During this session, attendees will review various aspects of labor management and direct costs, including the following:
  • Hiring: background checks, personality profiles, interviewing
  • Evaluations: self-evaluations, management evaluations, goal-setting
  • Compensation: models, ranges, benefits
  • Inventory costs: receiving, storage, turnover
