Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Not-for-Profit Services Group will host “Not-for-Profit Accounting Update: A Conversation with the FASB” Oct. 10 in Indianapolis.

This seminar, designed for not-for-profit accounting professionals, board members, and nonprofit leaders, will address major developments in accounting standards that will impact not-for-profit entities. This year, we are honored to have Jeffrey D. Mechanick, assistant director for nonpublic entities with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), join us for this interactive discussion.

In his role with FASB, Mechanick provides strategic and technical oversight of all activities involving nonpublic entities (private companies and not-for-profit organizations), oversees support of the Private Company Council, chairs the FASB’s Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee, and participates in some of the FASB’s broader outreach activities.

Topics will include:

  • ASU 2014-09 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • ASU 2016-02 Leases
  • ASU 2016-14 Presentation of Financial Statements for Not-for-Profit Entities
  • Proposed ASU Clarifying the Scope and the Accounting Guidance for Contributions Received and Contributions Made
