William E. Leach

PROFILE

Bill Leach is a principal of Katz, Sapper & Miller and has served as firm administrator for more than 30 years. He is responsible for all administrative and operational aspects of the firm, with particular emphasis in human resources, information technology, billings and collections, financial matters, and facilities management. Prior to joining the firm, Bill was executive vice president of an Indianapolis engineering firm and a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving two tours of duty in the Republic of Vietnam. Bill, a non-CPA administrator, was named a principal of Katz, Sapper & Miller in 1985.

EDUCATION

Bill received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Indiana Central College.

ASSOCIATIONS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

A member of the Association for Accounting Administration (AAA) since 1986, Bill is a past president of the Indiana Chapter and has served as a member of the National Board of Directors. He was selected as "National Administrator of the Year" in 1995, awarded the inaugural National AAA Distinguished Service Award in 2002, and received the AAA Distinguished Service Presidential Citation in 2011. Bill currently serves on the editorial advisory boards of various national accounting management publications.

Bill has written articles for, or appeared in articles by, the Journal of Accounting, CPA Administrative Report, Indianapolis Business Journal, Accounting Office Management & Administration Report, and CPA Personnel Report. He continues to be a national speaker to hundreds of CPA firms across the nation.
