PROFILE

Scott Brown is a partner at Katz, Sapper & Miller. He has been with the firm since 1990 and in public accounting since 1987. Scott advises clients in a wide variety of accounting, tax and business matters, including those related to mergers and acquisitions as well as succession planning. He is the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Services Group and serves on various marketing and management committees.

EDUCATION

Scott graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

ASSOCIATIONS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Scott is a founding member of the Logistics Council Executive Committee of Conexus Indiana, the state’s advanced manufacturing and logistics initiative. Scott is also president of the Manufacturing Services Association, a nationwide network of independent accounting firms that specialize in providing superior financial, tax and consulting services to manufacturers. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society and the Indiana Manufacturers Association.

Scott is an alumnus of the Class XXIX of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, where he was one of 25 people selected to participate in an intensive year-long program designed to help top business leaders become top community leaders. Scott has also had the honor of being selected by the Indianapolis Business Journal for inclusion in its “Forty Under 40” special report.

Scott is an advisory board member of the Circle City Foundation, treasurer of the Lacy Leadership Association, and a member of the executive committee of J.T.’s Hand Foundation: A Neonatal Fund. He also serves as a member of the board of advisors for a number of clients.
