Rob Hilton is a director in Katz, Sapper & Miller's Valuation and ESOP Services Groups. Rob has provided hundreds of valuations in a wide variety of equity classes such as operating and holding companies, partnerships, limited liability companies, various intangible assets and stock options.
Rob has extensive experience with the implementation and administration of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), the valuation of gift and estate planning, buy-sell agreements, recapitalization, mergers and acquisitions, purchase price allocations, financial reporting and general corporate planning across a broad range of industries. Additionally, he focuses on the valuation of covenant-not-to-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
Prior to joining KSM, Rob spent more than 15 years with a nationally recognized valuation firm. His professional background also includes financial analyst roles within the mental healthcare facility management, paper and packaging product distribution, and financial services industries.
Rob is a frequent speaker at conferences related to ESOPs, and has testified as an expert witness in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Rob received a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and psychology from Emory University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Rochester’s William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration.
Rob is an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers and a member of the National Center of Employee Ownership. He currently serves as executive vice president of the New York/New Jersey Chapter of The ESOP Association. Additionally, Rob has served as treasurer, secretary and vice president of the board of directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester, Syracuse, and Binghamton, NY. He is an age-group competitive swimmer and has competed in the U.S. Masters Swimming National Championships.
