Phil McKenzie is a director in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Fort Wayne office. Phil has more than 25 years of public accounting experience, including seven years in the private industry working for and with non-profit organizations. He provides entrepreneurial advisory and assurance services to a wide variety of clients in many industries.
In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Phil holds the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). As a CFE, Phil utilizes his knowledge of the industry and professional experience to examine the underlying factors that motivate individuals to commit fraud. He works to translate data and recommend best practices to ensure the appropriate controls are in place to prevent or detect fraudulent or abusive transactions.
Phil received his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Phil is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society, the Michigan Association of CPAs and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He serves on the board as treasurer for the University of Michigan Alumni Association of Fort Wayne, the Homestead Lacrosse Club, and Weeze Productions and Professional Artists. Phil is also a member of the finance advisory committee for Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters in Huntington, Indiana and a member of the Fort Wayne Time Corners Kiwanis Club.
