Posted 3:25 PM by

Indianapolis, Ind. – Katie Culp, president of KSM Location Advisors, part of the Katz, Sapper & Miller Network, has been named a 2016 Woman of Influence by the Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ).

The Women of Influence award recognizes local women from both the public and private sectors who exemplify professional excellence and leadership in their careers and community service efforts. Culp was recognized as one of 23 women for this year’s honor.

In her role as president of KSM Location Advisors, Culp leads a group of location advisory and incentives consulting professionals. Her distinguished career includes more than 16 years of economic development experience, securing close to $500 million in economic incentives in 48 states for clients of all sizes.

Previously, Culp led Cassidy Turley’s (now Cushman & Wakefield) national location advisory and incentives practice, working with corporate clients to make fully informed location decisions and maximize state and local incentives packages. She has also led economic development efforts in central Indiana for organizations such as The Indy Partnership/Indy Chamber, Boone County Economic Development Corporation, and the city of Indianapolis. Most impressively, at age 23, Culp became the Boone Economic Development Corporation’s executive director, and, at the time, was the youngest economic development director in the state.

Along with her professional accomplishments, Culp is active in the Indianapolis community, holding various leadership positions with both professional and civic organizations. She is an enthusiastic mentor for women in business and an advocate for working mothers. Culp holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in public policy from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University.

Culp has previously been chosen for the IBJ’s “Forty Under 40” and has been recognized by Real Estate Forum as a “Woman to Watch” in its “Women of Influence” category.

Culp, along with the other honorees, were recognized at a breakfast ceremony in downtown Indianapolis on Nov. 3.
