Posted 6:57 PM by

Indianapolis, Ind. – The certified public accounting firm of Katz, Sapper & Miller is helping to lead the fight against hunger in Indiana with more than 200 employees volunteering today at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana.

KSM volunteers will devote their time to sorting, inspecting, processing and packing donated food and grocery items for distribution to Gleaners’ member agencies. Gleaners’ 250 partner agencies in 21 Indiana counties include food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. KSM volunteers will also fill BackSacks that provide weekend food for children in need.

“We are honored to spend the day helping our community through such a worthy cause,” said David Resnick, managing partner of Katz, Sapper & Miller. “However, the real champions are the dedicated staff at Gleaners who address the food insecurity needs of families throughout Indiana every day. Their never-ending compassion is very humbling.”

Food insecurity is a very real daily issue in Indiana and throughout the country. “Organizations such as KSM understand that hunger never takes a holiday,” said John Elliott, president/CEO of Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. “The firm’s full day of volunteer efforts supporting the many important food distribution tasks at our warehouse will have a positive impact on deliveries to our expansive service area.
