Jay Benjamin is a partner in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Tax Services Group and has been with the firm since 1992. His responsibilities include tax planning for individuals, estates, trusts, exempt organizations and business entities. He works extensively in the areas of estate planning, fiduciary income tax, exempt organizations and employee benefits. Jay also provides research and technical support for special tax projects and represents clients before state and federal taxing authorities. He is a frequent author and lecturer on taxation and a regular speaker at various seminars and forums.
Jay graduated with high distinction from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis.
Jay is a member of the American Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society, and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants. In addition, Jay is a past president of the Estate Planning Council of Indianapolis and a past chair of the Executive Committee of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Taxation Section. He also serves on the Planned Giving Council for the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, the Planned Giving Council for the Eiteljorg Museum, and is a member of the endowment committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis.
