Not all benefits packages are created equal. We happen to think ours has what you need … and more. The difference is in the details. Select a category below and discover them for yourself.

We believe flexibility is important. That’s why we offer employees a pre-tax benefits contribution option. A Section 125 Plan lets you make contributions toward medical and disability premiums and out-of-pocket medical and dependent care costs on a pre-tax basis. Contributions are deducted from your gross pay before income tax and Social Security are calculated.

We offer options for medical/vision coverage in the form of two high-deductible health plans combined with a Health Savings Account (HSA). The firm contributes generously to the HSA and pays 100% of preventive care. Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options such as Limited Purpose FSA and Dependent Care FSA are also available.

We provide company-paid group life, long-term disability, and short-term disability insurance to employees at no cost. In addition to group life coverage, we offer a non-CPA voluntary group life insurance plan.

Thanks to our ESOP structure, KSM also provides employees the opportunity to share in ownership of the firm. As an employee owner, you’ll build retirement savings alongside traditional retirement plan options. KSM employees are eligible to enter the ESOP on their start date with the firm. Eligible participants may receive a 5% contribution based on gross wages. This contribution is paid fully by KSM and not deducted from your wages.

New employees are eligible to participate in the firm’s 401(k) and Roth 401(k) savings plans on the first of the month following their date of hire.

Each year, employees are allotted a generous number of days of Paid Time Off (PTO) to cover vacations, sick days, and personal time off. KSM also recognizes a number of federal holidays with paid time away from work.

At KSM, we believe in recharging more than just our devices. That’s why we encourage our people to disconnect from work physically and mentally during what we call “Unplug Days.”

For the primary caregiver, we provide up to 12 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child. Additional paid leave is available to help with the primary caregiver’s transition back to work.

Eligible secondary caregivers may take up to four weeks of new parent leave for the birth or adoption of a child.

We believe that an employee who is healthy in all respects is a happy employee. For that reason, we offer a number of wellbeing programs and activities to provide support to our employees as they balance work and home. This includes 24/7 access to a robust mental wellbeing platform, conveniences such as concierge services and onsite vaccinations, complimentary meals, beverages, and snacks, and so much more. KSM provides financial support toward CPA exam preparation and completion, as well as competitive bonuses for passing the exam within two years of joining the firm.

We know education, learning, and development are critical components of our employees’ success. We also know pursuing higher education can place a financial burden on our employees. To help alleviate this strain, KSM offers an Education Assistance Program for employees working 1,000 hours or more each year. This benefit provides opportunities for both tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment for eligible employees.

As advocates for lifelong learning, we offer classes in both technical training and life skills. To the extent development needs cannot be met through in-house training, we work with our employees to identify external solutions for this purpose.

Not everyone is a CPA at KSM. We recognize it may be just as important to obtain a designation or certification related to another function. We work together to make that call and make it happen.

Staff members are reimbursed for all travel-related expenses. The firm may also pay additional compensation for individuals who travel out of town for more than 10 days in a calendar year.

  1. Giving of your time – We encourage and support your involvement with not-for-profit organizations of your choice.
  2. Giving of your talents – When you have volunteered 24 hours of your time at a not-for-profit organization that is meaningful to you, KSM will also make a financial contribution to the organization.
  3. Giving of your finances – KSM will match your financial contribution to the not-for-profit organization of your choice, up to a generous amount.
