KSM to Discuss ESOPs at Old National Bank Center for Closely Held Business Conference

KSM’s Dan Rosio, partner in the firm’s Valuation Services Group, and Andy Manchir, director in the firm’s Valuation and ESOP Services Groups, will present “ESOP: Legacy, Empowerment and Succession Planning" alongside Brian Henning and Alan O’Rear, senior vice presidents with Old National Bank, and Alex Mounts, partner with Krieg DeVault, at the Developing the Disruptor’s Mindset conference hosted by Butler University’s Old National Bank Center for Closely Held Business. The event, taking place Aug. 7 in Indianapolis, will feature keynote and breakout sessions designed around the needs of closely held business leaders.

During their multidisciplinary panel, Rosio and Manchir will examine employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) as an alternative succession planning vehicle from accounting, banking, legal, and valuation perspectives. Specifically, the panel will address the following concerns:

  • Advantages and disadvantages of ESOPs
  • Common myths associated with ESOPs
  • Preparing the company’s balance sheet for leverage
  • Beneficial financing structures to position the company for long-term success
  • Personal financial planning in connection with an ESOP sale

Other breakout sessions will cover cybersecurity, family business dynamics, exit planning, and more. The event will also feature a keynote session led by speaker Mike Maddock, serial entrepreneur and best-selling author of his latest book “Plan D: Lessons from the World’s Most Successful Disruptor.”
