KSM Supports Restoration of Historic Indianapolis Landmark

Posted 11:01 PM by

In honor of Katz, Sapper & Miller’s 75th anniversary, we are pleased to have supported the restoration of an important historical landmark for the City of Indianapolis – the City Market Clock.

Made in Boston by the E. Howard Clock Co. in the late nineteenth century, the clock was brought to Indianapolis around 1921 by Curtis Franklin Terry, a watchmaker and jeweler who made the clock a trademark for his business. Until his death in 1971, the clock stood on the sidewalk in front of his shop at 935 Indiana Avenue. The City of Indianapolis bought the clock from the Terry family in 1972 to place at the City Market.

KSM’s founding partner, Irwin (Irv) Katz, established our firm as one that would provide exceptional service for our clients and, equally important, give back to the communities in which we live and work. Irv was a philanthropist at heart, and believed that, above all else, giving back was simply the right thing to do. Through example, he also made sure that future generations of KSM leadership embraced the call to community service and insisted on both individual and corporate commitment to local causes. Through the years, our firm has continued Irv’s vision and given back in many ways.
