FASB Releases ASU No. 2016-02, Leases (Topic 842)

On Feb. 25, 2016, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) released Accounting Standards Update No. 2016-02, Leases (Topic 842) (the Update). Previous lease accounting guidance has long been criticized for not addressing the needs of financial statement users and FASB has spent several years on this project to address the concerns of users.

Spec Building Meets Market Saturation at America’s Crossroads

In her recently revealed emails, Hillary Clinton referred to Indianapolis by its decades-old derisive nickname, “Indianoplace.” She and everyone else still using this nickname should have come to the State of Real Estate panel presentation in Indianapolis hosted by the Commercial Real Estate Women, Indy Chapter.

Proposed Indiana Bill Could Impact Real Property Contractors

The 2016 Indiana legislative session is well underway. It is a short session and not a budget year, so we do not expect many significant tax changes as a result of the session. Currently, however, there is proposed sales tax legislation that would impact real property construction contractors.
