Benefits

Katz, Sapper & Miller offers comprehensive benefits to our staff. We invite you to review the following summary of our Benefits Package. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss our benefits in greater detail.

Cafeteria Plan (Section 125)

The firm offers a pre-tax benefits contribution option for employees.

A Section 125 Plan is a benefit plan that allows you to make contributions toward medical and disability premiums and out-of-pocket medical and dependent care costs on a pre-tax basis. Your contributions are deducted from your gross pay before income tax and Social Security are calculated.

We also have the Limited Flex Account to go along with the High Deductible Health Plan.

Major Medical, Dental and Vision Plan

KSM offers several choices for medical/vision plan coverage in the form of two High Deductible Health Plans, each combined with a Health Savings Account. The firm contributes generously to the Health Savings Account and pays 100% of preventative care.

Life and Disability Insurance

KSM provides its staff with group life and long-term disability insurance. Short-term disability insurance is available at a minimal cost. In addition to the group life, we have a non CPA-voluntary group life insurance plan.

ESOP

Katz, Sapper & Miller is an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). After completing one year of service, employees are eligible to participate in KSM's ESOP and may enter the plan on one of two entry dates – January 1 or July 1. Eligible participants may receive a five percent contribution based on gross wages.

Retirement Plans

After a short period of time, staff members are eligible for the firm’s Regular & Roth 401(k) savings plan as well as the KSM-funded Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

Paid Time Off

KSM provides employees with paid time off, which covers vacations, sick days and personal time off.

Birth or Adoption Days

We provide two additional days off (with pay) for the birth or adoption of a child.

Wellness Program

Among many other wellness benefits, the firm offers a wellness allowance, an employee assistance program, on-site health screenings, flu and pneumonia shots (paid at 100%), and three kitchen areas stocked with complimentary healthy beverages and snacks. In fact the value of all of KSM’s wellness benefits is close to $1,300.

Education and Professional Development

KSM is committed to the continuing education and professional development of its staff and offers numerous onsite classes through KSM University. These classes include both technical training and other life skills training to help you grow with the Firm. We also provide reimbursement to maintain licenses and certifications, for professional society fees and other related expenses.

Certification Program

This program provides up to $2,000 to help any KSM employee defray the cost of obtaining a designation or certification related to our industry or your field in our industry. You may use this money to purchase study materials, cover registration and/or exam fees, etc. The firm has relationships with several providers of CPA exam review materials. In particular, the Firm participates in a direct bill program with Becker Professional Education which enables our employees to purchase exam review materials at significantly reduced rates. KSM also provides alternative payment options if the employee does not want to use the $2,000 certification allowance towards exam review materials and would rather use the money for other purposes (e.g. to cover exam fees or costs associated with another certification).

CPA Bonus Program

KSM will generously reward employees who pass the CPA exam within 6 or 12 months of their start date.

Candidate Referral Bonus Program

KSM may pay employees for their referral of new employees.

Travel

Although travel is minimal, we reimburse our staff for all related expenses. We also may pay additional compensation for those who travel “out-of-town” for more than 20 days in a calendar year.

Matching Gifts Program

KSM will match up to a specific annual amount per employee for gifts to charitable organizations of their choice. We are hopeful that this program will further the growth and success of charitable organizations that are important to our staff.
