Amanda Horvath is a director in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Technical Accounting Advisory Services Group. She serves as a specialized resource and technical expert helping KSM clients and engagement teams identify and better understand complex accounting and auditing topics. Through ongoing research into the latest accounting and professional standards, she helps the firm ensure the quality of its assurance engagements.

As an advisor, Amanda helps to resolve technical accounting issues and provides guidance on interpreting and applying new accounting standards. Additionally, she supports the firm in the adoption of new professional standards, audit tools, and technologies.

Amanda’s background includes both public and corporate accounting and extensive experience serving KSM’s not-for-profit and governmental clients. She is also a subject matter specialist in Uniform Guidance, single audit compliance, and government auditing standards (Yellow Book). Amanda is a frequent speaker at conferences regarding accounting standards and the application of technical accounting issues and devotes significant time to training KSM staff.

This is the best advice I’ve ever received: “Focus your time and energy on the things that matter most, and be careful not to get distracted by the little things.” This mindset allows me to be more present in the moment, whether it be at work or with my family and friends.

Amanda graduated cum laude from Butler University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. During her senior year, she was selected as one of Butler’s Top 100 Students based on academic achievements and contributions to the university. Additionally, Amanda was named a High Grade Winner for her performance on the Indiana CPA exam. She continues to expand her professional education by attending the American Institute of CPAs’ (AICPA) Not-for-Profit Industry Conference each year, learning about developments directly from regulators and standard setters.

Amanda is a member of AICPA and AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Section and serves on the organization’s Benevolent Fund committee. She is also a member of the Indiana CPA Society, where she serves on the Government Relations Advisory Council (GRAC). She is a 2010 graduate of the United Way of Central Indiana’s leadership development program, Leadership United, Ardath Burkhart Series. Amanda previously served as treasurer of the board of directors of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and as secretary of the Network of Women in Business. She is currently the secretary of the SON Foundation and is involved with the choir at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church.
