KSM believes in the importance of community involvement. The firm supports a wide variety of community activities, and our contributions extend beyond financial donations. KSM staff make a difference by volunteering for myriad organizations in and around Indianapolis. Employees are encouraged to join organizations and contribute both financially and personally to philanthropic causes.
KSM Ambassador Program
Everyone new to the firm participates in the KSM Ambassador Program. KSM’s Ambassador Program is designed to create involvement and interaction between interns and/or new staff and the firm’s existing personnel and clients. On your first day with KSM, your Ambassador will be available to answer your questions, address concerns and show you the internal operations of the firm. Your Ambassador will have a similar background and/or interests as yours, including education, professional goals, personal and family. This program will allow you to see public accounting from a variety of perspectives thus helping you make better-informed decisions about future career choices and opportunities.
KSM Mentoring Program
Staff members also have the opportunity to participate in KSM's Mentoring Program. The objective of the KSM Mentoring Program is to increase a staff member's technical knowledge and skills, to gain an understanding of firm services and markets, and to develop a personal career roadmap. The mentor is responsible for listening, giving advice, and introducing the staff member to technical and practice development issues, as well as community involvement opportunities.
KSM University
Life-long learning is extremely important at KSM. Everyone new to the firm enrolls in KSM University, our series of staff training programs taught by partners, staff, professional consultants and university professors. You’ll complete 60 hours of classes in each of your first two years. All client service personnel are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours annually after those initial two years.
The best training you’ll receive, however, goes beyond the classroom. Immediately, you will be working closely with partners, directors and managers who will guide and assist you with your day-to-day projects.
Social Opportunities
We encourage employees to establish friendships as well as strong work relationships. As a company, we offer many activities and functions for employees. From basketball, softball, volleyball and golf leagues to parties celebrating the holidays and April 15th, there is plenty of time for social interaction. KSM has been a perpetual participant in the Corporate Challenge, all-day sports competition among local companies. In addition, there are annual golf and bowling outings as well.
