Founded in Indianapolis in 1942 by Louis Levy and Joseph Calderon, the firm began with just seven individuals. Irwin Katz joined the team in 1952, helping to grow the firm steadily over the next six decades. In 1975 the firm's name was changed from Irwin Katz & Company to Katz, Sapper & Miller. Irwin Katz came to the firm with a belief that there is more to a business than just the accounting ledger, stating "We should make the numbers come to life." His inquisitive nature and motivation to understand his clients' business needs has extended into Katz, Sapper & Millers' culture today.
