2016 ALK Transportation Technology Summit

Date:May 24, 2016
Location: The Westin
99 South 17th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19103
Format:Presentation

David Roush, president of KSM Transport Advisors, will co-present a session at the 2016 ALK Transportation Technology Summit May 24 in Philadelphia, Pa.

After a period of tight capacity, which had given carriers the upper hand, capacity is now outpacing demand. As a result, shippers are pushing to reduce their transportation spend. Roush’s presentation will review the current status of the marketplace and its impact on the profitability of businesses.

Topics will include:

  • How carriers can gain knowledge through freight network engineering
  • How to improve carrier profitability
  • How to improve shipper relationships

With 20-plus years of experience, Roush's areas of focus include freight networks, financial management operational metrics and optimization strategies. In addition to top-line revenue management and optimization, Roush has a thorough understanding of the trucking P&L and balance sheet and the functions supporting the various line items.

Joining Roush as a presenter will be Gary Jones. As the pricing manager at Boyd Bros. Transportation Inc., Jones implements Integrated Decision Support Corporation’s (IDSC’s) Netwise network tool to optimize Boyd’s freight network, determining the best freight options based on shipper and lane performance.

The ALK Transportation Technology Summit provides attendees a unique environment to learn from industry leaders about today’s latest challenges and trends. With more than 15 education sessions, attendees will be exposed to the latest features, functionality and best practices of PC*MILER, CoPilot Truck and ALK Maps.
