Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Chad Halstead and Mike North will speak at Faegre Baker Daniels’ 2018 M&A Conference. Taking place May 10 at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis, this annual conference provides dealmakers the opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends, discuss complex mergers and acquisitions (M&A) topics, and network with others in the local M&A community.

Halstead will serve as a panelist at the session “2017 Tax Act: Provisions Affecting M&A,” which will explore crucial issues dealmakers should consider as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Halstead, a partner in the firm’s Tax Services Group, uses his strong background in analytical research and technical review of federal tax issues to identify innovative solutions to minimize taxes for his clients. He also regularly guides clients through the development and implementation of tax structures from which government incentives can be received on a tax-free or tax-deferred basis.

North will serve as a panelist at the session titled “Acquiring a Closely Held Company: Buyer’s and Seller’s Perspective.” As a partner in the firm’s Transaction Services Group, North advises private equity and strategic clients throughout the transaction lifecycle on both the buy side and sell side. Additionally, he has extensive experience advising clients in accounting, financial reporting, auditing, compliance, and internal control matters.

The Indianapolis conference, in its sixth year, will feature panel discussions led by nationally recognized leaders in strategic and private equity M&A, finance, tax, accounting, law, investment banking, and other areas of business.

Other sessions at the conference will include:

  • Market Update: Current Deal Activity, Valuations, and Outlook
